My mission as a Nutrition Counselor is to support  you to create a stress-free, healing diet that is personalized for your individual health needs.

My passion is supporting people just like you to heal their Leaky Gut so that you can feel the freedom to live the life you’ve always wanted. I love helping people create their personal healing diets so that they feel confident that their food choices will nourish and support their health and relieve the stress and worry of having digestive problems.

There was a time in my life when worrying about my digestion consumed my whole day.

My digestion was horrible.

I’ll spare you the details. I felt uncomfortable, bogged down and depressed. It got to the point where I couldn’t go anywhere without knowing all of the bathrooms on the way. My IBS was bad…and it got to the point where I thought I might have cancer or another serious problem, but I never made the connection between the food I was eating and the way my body felt: heavy, tired, sad and always running to the bathroom. 

My issues with digestion developed as a result of my pursuit of weight loss. I ate all of the “good” low fat, high carb diet foods. I was a vegetarian and the staples of my diet were lettuce, peanut butter, whole wheat bread and cereal. I didn’t eat much, but when I did, it was usually one of these three foods. After about a year of this, I started feeling pretty bad.

TMI alert: I had horrible gas. ALL the time. No matter what I ate. I had horrible cramps and audible intestinal gurgles ALL the time. I had diarrhea ALL the time—every day. No matter what I ate. It was urgent all day every day. I was depressed, and I had really bad adult onset acne. I had all of these symptoms that made me think about my digestion all the time, but I didn’t see the connection between the food I was eating and how I felt.

There was one time I was in the Borders Books in downtown Boston trying to pick out a book while also desperately searching for the bathroom and hoping that there was no one else in there.

That was the point when I realized that this wasn’t normal.

My personal Nutritional Reset began in 2009 when I discovered Mark’s Daily Apple.  With Mark Sisson’s primal insights, I was able to relate the food I was eating to my energy levels and digestion for the first time in my life. I started experimenting with eating more whole foods, more fats and less refined foods.

I used vegetables and high quality protein to crowd out the not-so-healthy foods and the result has been tremendous. I am free of my old digestion issues—I have more energy and, most importantly, I have a much better relationship with food.

Moving toward a Paleo Diet was like flipping a switch.

Once I started eating mostly whole foods, my relationship with food totally changed.

I no longer thought about food all of the time.

I was able to enjoy eating for the first time in my life.

Having healthy digestion makes me happy. After figuring out that food was the cause of my problems, I discovered better, more nutritious options and I’ve never looked back. I live my life within a Paleo Framework.

My goal with my work  as a Holistic Nutrition Counselor is to support you to heal yourself with food as I have. 

So that you can identify the foods that may be the cause of your issues whether it’s IBS, fatigue or arthritis, so that you can feel a lightness and sense of renewal that you’ve never felt before.

So that you can heal your gut and create your own healing diet that supports your  health and happiness.

Through my nutrition programs, you’ll figure out the foods behind the issues that are negatively affecting your life. You’ll gently reduce or eliminate them from your diet in a way that is enjoyable, doable and lasting.

I am a nationally certified Holistic Nutrition Counselor through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition® and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) working toward my Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition through Hawthorn University.
